Geoffrey Beene was born in Haynesville, Louisiana, on August 30, 1927. After attending the Traphagen School of Fashion, he built his career as a designer in Paris and New York at fashion houses including Har May and Teal Traina.
Geoffrey Beene personally developed his first fragrance and launched in 1975. This was one of the very first designer colognes for men which was the elegant, sophisticated Grey Flannel still popular with mass market and mid-market range products.
